1. Introduction

Decode It, Inc. (referred to as "Decode It," "we," "us," or "our") is a Delaware corporation with its principal place of business at 225 West 34th Street, Fl 9, New York, NY 10122. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, store, and use data and information in connection with our Beta platform.

PLEASE READ THIS POLICY CAREFULLY. IT IS IN CONJUNCTION WITH OUR TERMS OF SERVICE (THE “TERMS”), AND THIS POLICY, THE TERMS, AND THE SIGNUP PAGE ARE PART OF THE LEGAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU AND US (THE “AGREEMENT”). BY USING ANY OF OUR SERVICES, YOU CONSENT TO AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE AGREEMENT.

We may modify this Policy at any time at our sole discretion. If we make revisions, We will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page, and the revised version will be effective immediately when it is posted. We may also notify you through other communication. We encourage you to review this Policy and the Terms regularly to stay informed about our policy and practices.

2. Decode It Platform Data Collection & Sources

In using the Decode It Platform, we collect the following data and information:

  • Account Information: We collect your name, email, and organization details to manage your access via AWS Cognito.

  • Metadata extraction: We collect column names, data types, and other metadata from your connected sources (Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran).

  • Transformation Logic: We analyze SQL query history and dbt artifacts to generate definitions and lineage graphs.

  • Security: Connection credentials are encrypted and managed via AWS Secrets Manager (KMS).

  • Usage Data: Your interaction with the tool, including but not limited to, date and time of use, time spent, identity of account log-in, and features and aspects used.

We use the data and information to ensure functionality and performance; detect, prevent, and address technical issues; communicate with you; track user interaction and use; provide support and review feedback; analyze, evaluate, and improve the Tool and our products; to develop new features and functions, and develop and offer new products or services.

3.Website Information

When accessing or using our website, you indirectly provide us data and information. Data and information is collected by tracking technologies. We (and our service providers) use tracking technologies, such as Google tags, Reddit pixels, cookies, and web beacons that collect data and information.

Device Information: The information relating to your computer, and other information associated with the device You use, which includes, but may not be limited to, the IP address or other unique identifiers that are automatically assigned to Your device; the type of device and type of browser You are using; the third party website from which your visit our website originated; the operating system; and the domain name of your internet service provider.

Usage Data: Details about your activity on our website used, which includes the specific  pages accessed, time of day and duration of your visits,  search terms you use on our site, referring/exit pages, and clickstream data.

We use the information and data to operate our website; ensure functionality and performance; detect, prevent, and address technical issues; communicate with you; track user interaction and use; analyze, evaluate, and improve our website or specific webpages; develop new features and functions, and develop and offer new products or services.

4. AI Usage & Purpose

We may further use the data and information we receive in conjunction with or within artificial, machine, or other intelligence, and other similar technologies (collectively referred to as “AI”) to help us provide and improve the Platform, to develop new features, tools, products, or technologies; and to evaluate, comprehend, distill, and use the information and data. 

We use the Anthropic LLMs via AWS Bedrock to provide the following features:

  • Definition Generation: Drafting plain-English descriptions of your data assets.

  • Contextual Inference: Mapping data flow based on SQL logic.

  • No Model Training: Your metadata and query logic are used for inference only. They are not used to train or improve the foundational models of Anthropic or AWS.

5. Data Sharing & Retention

We do not obtain, copy, or keep your business and customer data and information in your warehouse that the Platform accesses. We ask that you only grant read-only access, and it is your responsibility to set permission to read-only. We only extract and store query history and metadata from your Snowflake warehouse and artifacts and metadata from dbt and Fivetran.   

  • Sub-processors: We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for hosting and Anthropic (via Bedrock) for definition drafting.

  • Retention: We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Extracted query history and metadata is deleted within 30 days of account termination.

6. Protection of Data and Information

We take commercially reasonable administrative, physical, and electronic measures designed to protect the data and information that we receive and to protect against loss, misuse, alteration, or unauthorized access or disclosure. However, despite your and our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse. As such, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any data and information transmitted to us over the internet and hence we will not be liable for any unintentional disclosure. We encourage you to not share your account login and/or password with any other individual. Your account login and/or password is sensitive and your sharing of your account information may lead to additional exposure to your account.

If we become aware of a security incident that compromises the security of your data and information, we will take reasonable steps to investigate, mitigate potential harm, and, when required under applicable law, notify you and applicable authorities.

7. Children

The Platform and our products and services are only for commercial use, and not intended for, and may not be used by, anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any personally identifying information from children under 13 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personally identifying  information, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to remove such information from our files as soon as possible.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where your organization is located and where you reside, you may have certain rights regarding any personal information we may receive.
